Michael grew up in Guelph, ON, an alumnus of Our Lady of Lourdes High School and the University of Guelph. After completing an internship with the Vancouver Canucks and gaining valuable employment experience at the NHL Players' Association, he returned to his hometown to raise his own family and establish strong roots within the community. Michael places utmost importance on quality of life and cherishing moments with loved ones. He and his wife take immense pride in their two daughters and son. In his efforts to give back to the community, he actively supports children's charities and dedicates his time to coaching youth athletics, including both of his daughters' soccer teams.
